This is the training with the most formal, traditional imprint of the bombo with cymbals: that of Buenos Aires murga. Murga doesn't live in a single format — it plays in open spaces (carnival parades, street corsos) as well as closed spaces (staged performances, bookings), and each context calls for a different approach. This is exactly what's taught here: how to adapt the instrument to each situation, with the range and technical depth murga demands.

• Styles and traditions by neighborhood — each with its own imprint: Boedo, Saavedra, Palermo, La Boca, Mataderos, Almagro, among others.
• Formal technique and progression built for anyone who wants to play at the level murga demands.

Our methodology is based on oral transmission, guided practice and respect for tradition. Every class combines technique, musicality, discipline and cultural connection, and is structured in 5 stages: rhythmic warm-up, technical exercises, learning rhythms, applied practice, and closing with reflection.

Murga players of any level, from someone about to join a murga for the first time to someone who already plays and wants to go deeper into the style of a specific neighborhood.

Zalo Battipaglia is a third-generation murguero: his grandfather founded "Los Dandys de Boedo" in 1956, and he grew up in the same neighborhood, in a tenement where the bombo and singing were part of everyday family life. Today he runs Vieja Escuela de Bombistas, a space dedicated to training percussionists of Buenos Aires carnival with the same oral tradition he learned from.
