Description
What is a Surdo?
The surdo is a large bass drum that produces a deep and powerful low tone. In samba percussion ensembles it provides the rhythmic pulse that supports the entire group.
Originally from Brazil, the surdo is widely used in samba bands, carnival ensembles and percussion groups around the world.
24" Aluminum Surdo Drum
Deep bass, stronger resonance and lighter weight
The 24-inch Aluminum Surdo is designed for percussionists who need a deep rhythmic foundation with strong projection and greater comfort during long performances.
Its smooth aluminum shell produces a more open and expansive resonance than traditional wooden models, creating a powerful low tone with excellent presence in the percussion section.
Thanks to its lighter weight, this surdo is ideal for parades, samba ensembles, carnival groups and moving performances where comfort and endurance matter.
The Brazilian hoops and fixed tension rods with PRO tuning provide fast response, stable tuning and reliable performance in rehearsals and live settings.
