Description
What Is a Surdo?
The surdo is the bass drum of samba: a large drum that carries the pulse that holds the whole percussion section together. Born in Brazil, today it's as much a part of batucadas as it is of murgas and comparsas here.
This 20' wooden surdo, double head is one step up in body without losing comfort. Traditional closed build, with a head on both sides: wooden shell that brings warm tone and full resonance, with more sustain than a single-head surdo.
